Interesting read. Your posts are always thought provoking. But your presumption is something I dadn't expect to see from someone touting (and tooting their own) intelligence.
You could live 100 years + 50 more and you still wouldn't give as great advice as "grand" as my dad.
This is something I try and take into account. The perception of how I view my own intelligence.
In reality I see myself as middling. I try and keep that view as well. I don't want to think I'm smarter than I am, I'd rather be surprised that I'm right as opposed to surprised that I'm wrong.
However, I also try and only write things I feel somewhat confident on.
What specifically gave that impression? It's obviously a blind spot I should correct.
I think you definitely hit the mark in what you're striving for. Unfortunately we live in a heavily calcified culture. And even more unfortunately, arrogance and ignorance are married to each other, and mean about it 😄
You can't speak wisdom and not sound a little condescending at times, it's just a side effect of the job eh.
I'm just commenting from my personal experience being raised by older folks who knew what the score was in this game before they ever made it into a blood sport.
