"Venturing into the unknown is fraught with fear, isolation, and the daunting task of relearning. Yet, it offers a canvas for rediscovery and living anew in a strange world. Stand firm in your convictions, unblinded by false promises, and relentless in your pursuit of truth."

This paragraph spoke to me. The whole post spoke to me, in that great way that makes you feel... determined.

I got fired yesterday, out of the blue, for reasons I shall never comprehend and which mask the real reasons. And I know it's for a great reason, though it hurts.

Reading strong words keeps my light burning as I turn away from the false bullshit that says kowtow, and resume my desert walk.

Getting fired is a real kick in the "you know what".

I was fired in 2022, the last day of August.

But, if I hadn't been, this Substack wouldn't exist.

I'm not comparing the two events, by the way, other than to say I feel ya and that sucks.

But, perhaps, this opens up a whole new world?

Of course there is a door opening! That’s the gift of the situation: opportunity and blessing. I knew you would understand.

One of my favorite books is The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse. Another favorite is CS Lewis' The Horse and His Boy. You just reminded me of both.

'...if you've got a goal, a purpose, something worth fighting for or striving for, the trials and tribulations that come along can be weathered, can be withstood, can be dealt with.'

Yeah, agreed. Having a goal/purpose gives us confidence, determination, and resolve to push through certain challenges and setbacks that we may face in the process. It makes us feel empowered.

Yes!

And it gives us somewhere to look when things get hectic, dark, clouded, or bleak.

True north!
