Love it! Beautiful writing.

Integration - the ability to hold two (or more) poles in dynamic tension, not knowing what powerfully emergent wisdom will come. And even if it does not appear we made a "right" or a "good" choice, there is always the Brilliance of God's hand in the creative chaos of the world!

"You’d wonder what you’d lose in the bargain, what memories, what moments, what pieces of yourself you’d have to give up. And that hesitation, that tender pause, is where the truth lies" -- loved this line.

Although I am not a dad, I enjoyed reading this. You hint at maybe depression meds, not exactly sure., Which is relatable to me since both of my parents suffered from anxiety. Also, talking about not giving up , is quite relevant right now, for me as I am finishing writing my second book and nobody seems to be reading the first one, and who knows if anyone will read the second:) But, as you say, giving up is dumb:)
