Great piece and Moms deal with it too. I like what you said about dragons out in the world and not all mean well. I was thinking on anger actually this morning ( rhizo son) lol buy it was relating to a quote from American God's re Anger Getting Ish Done. What is it getting done though. I like what you did here. Great analogies.
I've been thinking about it and dealing with processing it and realizing that if people know this about you they will always try to manipulate it out of you for a reaction so then they're the victim or whatever else they can be to try to make you look a certain type of way in front of others for their gain irl, usually petty jealous people who are mad you found a way to ask them a question that confronts their behavior so they can gaslight you. Don't let them. Stoicism helps but going to the batting cages or driving range and methodically practicing or going on a bike ride /run/walk can get that energy and processing out without it eating one alive so super volcano or Mt st Helen's doesn't erupt on a person who yes may have been being a purposeful shit but I'm trying to be more stoic without giving myself an aneurysm. Channeling it and molding it like a blacksmith and watching the sky like a sailor were great analogies dude. Stay the course.
My own experience with anger is... Well, turbulent. I think things would have been much simpler if I had seen this perspective back then. So I really appreciate it, and I'm sure it'll help many people have a better relationship with this complicated emotion.
For years I was the frontman of the band Dr Rage and the Uppercuts. The whole premiss of that name and stage persona was to take all the rage and channel it into something uplifting and entertaining. Hence the name Dr rage, I would joke that I had become a doctor of rage in that I had learned to alchemically transform it into something new. Lol
Anger sure can be a useful tool, or ultimately a weapon of destruction. It's hard to say it helps (gotta know when to hold, fold, walk away, run)... It's easy to see it's addictive.

Great article, Andrew. There is a time for controlled, righteous anger in defense of a principle, or loved ones. Controlling and channeling that anger is what separates a good man from those who want to inflict harm or impose their will on those whom they perceive as weak. Love this piece!

RHIZOMATIC!
Wonderful!

Definitely one of my favourite pieces.
Wonderful!
I wrote it after I got angry and didn't want to be.
It's always a surprise, though a welcome one, when someone likes these!

Wonderful!
I often wish I could just yell and have it all go away.
But, alas, even my yelling is flinch-worthy.
So instead I have to figure out other ways to deal with the anger.
Like turning a non-mechanical keyboard into sounding like a mechanical one with FURIOUS TAPS.
Or making jokes.
I like jokes.
It's hard to channel anger though. Kudos to finding such a great way to do it.
