Andrew!!! Your words made me cry. What wondrous tenderness of the realities of being a parent...loving the little ones as they grow and step our on their own! I was not a Mom but I do know the profound importance of both Moms and Dads to children, both the genders participating. They need the example of how people grow up and how to take trouble and frustration and dismay and defeat, bit by little bit. They need stability and a calm in the storm. Heck, I'm 71 and still learning about this... Keep going, Andrew, you are doing a great job. WEW

This is beautiful. Each stanza had me reflecting on the stage of growth my own son will go through, and how my role is going to change to complement it. There's much in this life to look forward to, even if it does bring tears to your eyes.
