There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.
Good Morning folks.
I have been having a difficult time figuring out all of the ins and outs of blogging and making a living at the same time. I have been finding immense meaning and joy in it, but it’s difficult to figure out the best approach nonetheless.
The realization I have arrived at is, given the topics I cover and the purpose of the writings, I cannot paywall any of this content. I would not feel right doing it.
Considering these are messages about finding meaning and purpose in life when it is doing its best to knock you down, it seems to me that the ones who would need a message of hope or a message of encouragement are less likely to have the means to subscribe to something they need. And taking money they could have used somewhere else feels wrong anyways, if they need what I am producing here.
In my mind, despite the time writing and researching invested, it would not be the right thing to do. It doesn’t feel right to me and I have to listen to that feeling.
However, there’s still a paid subscription option, it just doesn’t unlock anymore of my content. But, subscribing WOULD allow me one more cup of coffee (assuming coffee is $5 at the local coffee shop) per month. Most likely it’d be at least 6, considering I like those coffee pod things Keurigs and similar brands use.
Coffee.
And coffee is VERY important for writing. I’m pretty sure writing didn’t exist until they started getting their morning coffee.
Don’t fact check that. It’s PROBABLY right. It makes sense to me, anyways. Who can write in the morning without coffee? See? Checkmate.
I’d love to be able to do this full-time. That likely won’t be able to happen until I set something else up, however.
Because again, I cannot justify paywalling these writings to myself.
I may come up with something else down the road.
But right now ACCESS is completely free.
Thank you.
Love,
Dad
