Heads Up: Paid Subscriptions

Welp, here we go.

Alright so this one won’t be formatted neatly and given thumbnails etc, let’s get right down to the subject here.

I have no intentions of putting anything behind paywalls at this time. I don’t know what I would put behind paywalls and subscriptions for one thing, additionally the point of all this is to get accountability from possible public scrutiny and additionally to try and get as many eyeballs on this content as possible for suggestions and criticisms to hopefully make my content and writing better and to better myself in the process.

So I have been exploring the features of Substack to see what I can do, should do, could do, etc. I have found there appear to be some things only available (not sure, but I do want to explore everything I can) AFTER you have “set up” a subscription plan for potential readers and subscribers. So you will likely get an email or something generated from Substack after I turn this on. Again, I don’t have any plans in the works or intent to paywall anything, despite how tempting money is. Part of that is truly due to me not thinking anything I write currently is worthwhile to have that distinction. Just being honest and I think at least at this point we could all agree on that point. I’m good with that, it makes sense. I am not a blogger, journalist, creative writer, freelance writer, novelist, intellectual etc. I am a dude with a beard and a belly that has things he wants to make sure his kids hear.

Either way, ignore the paywall nonsense you see on this Substack for now. If anything big changes in that regard you better believe I’ll be annoying in the amount I talk about it because it’s money and who doesn’t like money. However, it WOULD be pretty dope to make a living off writing everyday so if anyone has suggestions on that point I would love to hear them. Additionally, the default prices they put on everything I am just leaving alone because again, no plans to paywall stuff anyways so no real point in putting much effort into that part. If you do subscribe though, much appreciated. It would actually help tremendously to be able to justify a full time commitment to getting this thing off the ground. I can say 100% it isn’t expected or even deserved at this point.

Either way, thank you for reading what I have had to say so far in this topic and all the others. It’s truly encouraging, even if only a few people lay eyes on it. It helps me write more.
